La Spinetta blev grundlagt i 1977 af Giorgio Rivetti. I dag ledes La Spinetta af Giorgio og hans to brødre. I 1985 lavede La Spinetta den første rødvin Barbera d´Asti Ca´di Pian og siden Monferrato Rosso Pin i 1989, der var den første af deres rødvine der for alvor markerede sig. I midten af 19990erne introduceredes deres Barbarescoer og i 2000 kom deres Barolo Campe. La Spinetta råder over 165 ha og producerer ca. 450.000 flasker årligt. The 2011 Barbera d'Asti Bionzo is incredibly tight today most of which is probably attributable to its recent bottling, but is impossible to miss the wine's sheer persistence. I imagine the 2011 will drink well pretty much upon release, although it, too, needs time in bottle to start drinking well, and another few years beyond that to truly blossom. Today, it is shaping up to be magnificent. 2016 - 2026
