The 2021 Barolo Arborina offers a picture-perfect expression of site. Firm, driving tannins support a core of red-toned fruit, chalk, mint, white pepper and dried herbs. This sinewy, persistent Barolo has a lot to offer. I would prefer to give it a healthy decant to help soften some of the tannin impact.

Giuliano Corino and his family presented a terrific set of 2021 Barolos. More than anything else, I was so impressed with the expression of place in the wines. The Comune di La Morra will give readers a very good idea of the village style. The Giachini and Manescotto are especially strong this year. As always, the wines are vinified in rotary fermenters and aged in French oak with a light hand that exalts Nebbiolo and La Morra.
