The 2021 Barolo Castellero is the most reticent of the 2021s at this address. Red-toned fruit, iron, white pepper, chalk and dried herbs convey tons of earthy, mineral intensity. This tightly wound wine is going to need a number of years to be at its best, but it is pretty impressive today. 2027 - 2043

Claudio Fenocchio’s 2021 Barolos represent another important step forward for this family-owned domaine. The wines continue to gain in nuance, finesse and transparency, which is always great to see. Bottling a bit earlier than in the past is another choice that is paying off handsomely. Quite simply, the 2021s are some of the very finest Barolos I have tasted here.
