The 2020 Barolo Perno is a worthy follow-up to the 2018 and 2019. Strong floral, savory and mineral notes—all typical of this site—are all laced together. Like so many wines in this vintage, the 2020 is a lighter-bodied wine. Its balance is impeccable, even if there is a touch of new oak from one of the new casks. The 2020 will drink well relatively early. It a wine more of finesse than power or breadth. 2024 - 2035
