The 2021 Barolo Giachini is a super-classic wine from Giuliano Corino. Macerated dark cherry, new leather, licorice, spice, menthol and rose petal are nicely amplified in this broad, substantial Barolo. The 2021 impresses with its textural depth. There is a bit of firmness in the tannin, so a measure of cellaring is warranted.

Giuliano Corino and his family presented a terrific set of 2021 Barolos. More than anything else, I was so impressed with the expression of place in the wines. The Comune di La Morra will give readers a very good idea of the village style. The Giachini and Manescotto are especially strong this year. As always, the wines are vinified in rotary fermenters and aged in French oak with a light hand that exalts Nebbiolo and La Morra.
