The 2021 Barolo Margheria is all class. Dark cherry, sage, lavender, menthol, licorice and blood orange endow the 2021 with tons of character. Powerful yet refined, the 2021 is one of the best versions of this wine I have tasted. Clean mineral notes extend the gorgeous, resonant finish.

Gianpaolo Pira has made gorgeous wines for more than two decades. His 2021 Barolos show a newfound level of finesse that was absent in the early days, when the wines were dark, potent and massively extracted. The 2021s are seriously impressive across the board.
