Sandri's 2010 Barolo Riserva Perno is the kind of Barolo that just doesn’t exist anymore. A classic bouquet of rose petal, melted road tar, chocolate and exotic spices makes a strong opening statement. On the palate, the 2010 is deep, powerful and also tightly wound. Like all of the wines here, it will prove to be virtually indestructible. When I first opened this bottle it tasted a bit oxidized, and yet it got better and better over the several days I followed it. This gorgeous, old-school Barolo has so much to offer, for readers who can be patient. 2020 - 2035
