The 2021 Barolo Vignarionda is a real beauty. Sweet floral aromatics open first, leading into a core of exotic blue/purplish-hued fruits. A Barolo of poise and total sophistication, the 2021 Vignarioda sings with class. Silky, polished tannins wrap it all together in style. All the elements are so well balanced. This is truly sublime stuff. 2028 - 2041

Gianpaolo Pira has made gorgeous wines for more than two decades. His 2021 Barolos show a newfound level of finesse that was absent in the early days, when the wines were dark, potent and massively extracted. The 2021s are seriously impressive across the board.
