With fruit from Castiglione Falletto, the 2019 Barolo Villero is graceful and light with a beautifully silky approach to the palate. It is pleasing to the eye, thanks to the shiny ruby color that is characteristic of this vintage, and to the nose, thanks to a graceful bouquet with redcurrant, spice and blue flower. It shows similar traits to the mouth, thanks to a very sharp or linear element. Oddero's Villero knocks it out of the park across this portfolio of new releases. This is a 6,000-bottle production. 2025 - 2045

From: 2020 Barolo: Selective Excellence (Jan 2024)
The 2020 Barolo Villero offers up blue fruit, lavender, spice, mint, new leather and grilled herbs. Brisk acids and veins of tannin confer freshness. It will be interesting to see if the 2020 softens in bottle. Today, it is decidedly nervous. Even so, the Villero has real palate presence and notable explosive energy.
