Antoniolo er en familieejet vingård beliggende i Gattinara. Vingården har været i familiens eje 3 generationer, og de råder i dag over 14 ha. Vi har haft lejlighed til at smage flere af deres vine og årgange og har tilladt os foretage cherry picking af de mest spændende vine og årgange i forbindelse med RETRO kampagnen. Deres Gattinara er lavet på 100% nebbiolo.

Antoniolo's 2016 Gattinara Riserva is fabulous. A wine of stature and depth, the 2016 is seriously impressive right out of the gate. There's tremendous power and intensity, all in the vertical style that is the signature of the best wines here. Dark cherry, sage, mint, plum, spice, lavender and dried herbs open with a bit of coaxing. In a word: superb. 2022 - 2036

Antoniolo crushed it with their 2016 Gattinaras. The wines are off the charts in terms of their complexity and overall pedigree. In fact, the 2016s might very well be the finest collection of wines I have ever tasted here. As a reminder, all the Gattinaras are now labeled as Riservas. The vineyard designates are compelling, but the straight Riserva is not too far off. Vinous readers will not want to miss these wines.
