Francesco Versio lancerede første gang under eget brand med årgang 2018. Efter en årrække hos Bruno Giacosa har francesco fokus på vine i eget navn. Francesco har base i Barbaresco nær Neive. Druerne til Langhe Nebbiolo er dels fra egne marker i Dogliani og købte druer fra Barabaresco. Barbaresco er fra egne marker i Barbaresco.

From young vines that could be classified as Barbaresco, the Francesco Versio 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo is a structured expression with pretty depth of fruit and concentration. Indeed, the chalky tannins stand out here and are definitely a step above your standard Langhe Nebbiolo. They are surrounded by soft tones of black fruit, spice and crushed flower. The wine ages in oak for a quick 12 months (whereas the Barbaresco stays in oak for an additional nine months).
